Mandya: The girl students of a hostel thrashed the Head Teacher for misbehaving with them. The incident was reported from Katteri village in Pandavarpura Taluk on the night of Wednesday December 14.
According to girl students of the hostel, the head teacher Chinmaya Murthy, who is also In-Charge of the hostel, allegedly misbehaved with girl students for many months. Many students and parents complained about the teacher to higher authorities but no action was initiated against the teacher. It is alleged that teachers showed obscene videos to students. He also threatened students that he would mention a bad character in the transfer certificate of students if they disclose the matter to anyone or complain against him.
On Wednesday night, the Head Teacher called a girl student and tried to misbehave with her by touching her inappropriately. The girl student raised an alarm.
Immediately all the girls rushed to the Head Teacher’s room and thrashed him. The head teacher fell at the feet of students and pleaded he will not do any kind of harassment to students in future.
Soon after hearing the news, villagers also rushed to spot and assaulted him. He was locked in a room and handed over to the KRS Police Station. The police registered a case under POCSO against Chinmaya Murthy followed by the complaint of students. The JMFC court sent the accused to judicial custody for 15 days.
