Mandya: In a shocking incident, a teacher at the Government Higher Primary School in Baby Village in the District has allegedly misbehaved with girl students.
Mahadevu, a Kannada teacher at Government Higher Primary School, allegedly committed the crime. The girls themselves have complained to their parents that he not only misbehaved with the girls but also sexually assaulted them. It is alleged that this has been happening for the last two years and the parents had complained to the concerned authorities several times too.
However, the authorities had not taken any action till now. Enraged by this, the parents brought it to the notice of School Developmeny and Management Committee and lodged a complaint with the local Gram Panchayat. On Friday December 10, the SDMC suddenly met and discussed the matter.
Also, the teacher was abused by parents and even tried to assault him at one point. The panchayat members immediately stopped him and called the Block Education Officer (BEO) and informed her about the news. BEO Sowbhagya, who rushed to the spot on hearing the news, listened to the parents’ complaint and issued an order asking the teacher Mahadevu to go on compulsory leave from Friday December 9.
