Mandya: A paramedical student was severely assaulted by a youth for rejecting his love reportedly from Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) premises on Thursday June 9.
The Injured has been identified as Navya (20) studying paramedical course and native of Vyyarahalli Village near here. The accused, Sampath Kumar is also from same village and were in relationship since two years. Navya’s father Paramesh instructed her to study instead of being distracted due to affair. Following the instruction, Navya started ignoring Sampath. Recently Navya celebrated her birthday with her friends without inviting Sampath. Sampath picked up quarrel at her home about celebration. He even threatened to make their intimate photos viral in social media.
On the evening of Thursday June 9, Sampath Kumar waited outside her college in a scooter, and assaulted using wooden log when she was getting out of the college. The passers-by caught the accused, thrashed and handed him over to the police.
Navya has been admitted to hospital and is out of danger. Mandya East Police has egistered a case and is investigating.
