Mandya: Police cracked dacoity case and recovered Rs. 1.5 Crore worth jewellery and arrested six accused within 48 hours of crime.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday April 18, Superintendent of Police N. Yetish said that six accused waylaid a car belonging to Mysuru-based jeweller and looted more than three kgs of gold jewellery by assaulting two at Gantagowdanahalli-Dyapasandra on Friday April 15. The jeweller and worker were delivering the jewellery in a car to various jewellery shops in Mandya District when they were attacked by three bike-borne accused.
The police managed to arrest the rime accused Ramesh, Varun Gowda, Puneet, Prakash, Raju, and Kailas Kumar.
SP said Ramesh was former employee of Lalit and knew the delivery routine of the jeweller and hatched a plan.
SP formed four teams to nab the accused. Keregodu pol6ice has registered a case. SP Yetish said Rs. 25000 prize has been announced to Circle Inspector Kyathe Gowda and team who cracked the crime.
