Mysuru: To curb unauthorized water connection and to collect pending water dues from the public, the Mysuru City Corporation launched a drive by flagging off 11 vehicles at its premise here on Tuesday. The drive has been launched to collect pending Rs 100 crore water taxes from industrial, commercial and domestic sectors.
Mayor M.J. Ravikumar and MCC Commissioner G. Jagadeesha flagged off 11 vehicles. Each of these vehicles will have four officials who will visit various areas in all the 9 Zones including industrial areas and commercial properties. As of now, the drive will focus on industries and commercial establishments and later will move on to collecting dues from domestic connections.
During the drive, the officials will check for the authenticity of the water connections and all unauthorized ones will be disconnected on the spot. The unauthorized water connections can be regularized by producing electricity bills and relevant documents. Those house owners who do not have valid documents water will pay the price!
