Mysuru: MLA Tanvir Sait alleged that MP Pratap Simha is attempting to sow communal enmity by putting a communal colour on the eviction of religious encroachment.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday September 9, Sait said that the eviction drive is going on as per Supreme Court order. On Wednesday, MP Simha took DC to task at Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) meeting for evicting only temples. He said if officials want to evict all the unauthorised religious places, first they must evict a dargah in Devaraj Devraj Urs road.
Tanvir said that the Dargah issue is pending before court that whether Dargah was constructed first or road. He said the issue will be decided by court. But Simha rebuked the DC forgetting that he is an elected representative. He said we are not adorning bangles and will fight back if Sinha raises the issue stirring communal harmony to get political mileage. He said it is shameful that an MP is trying to promote hatred among communities. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesman M. Lakshman alleged that BJP is trying to play communalism to gain momentum as assembly elections are nearing.
