Mysuru: Mysuru MP Pratap Simha Nayak has expressed his disappointment over the local Police Commissioner ‘not taking any action’ against the Facebook user who posed him death threat. Simha had recently said that Tipu was a fanatic king and had killed many Hindus and Christians as well.
Following his comment, Simha received a death treat on facebook from page named, ‘Mysuru Huli Shahide Millath Mahan Tippu Sultan’. The post on November 10 at 9.09 pm read:?“Prathap Naayi Muslimara viruddha maathu rajakiyada bele beyisuva karya mundoodidare (ninna saavu heegeye)” (If you continue to play politics by making anti-Muslim comments, you will meet the same end as Kuttappa.”
Simha said, “I had lodged a complaint with Mysuru City Police Commissioner B Dayanand. He has not taken any action yet. Due to the advent of technology, it is very easy to trace any social media user. I, being an MP, have received a death threat and the police force is still in the process of nabbing the culprit. This shows where the law and order in our state stands.”
He lambasted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah alleging that he was playing vote bank politics. “The CM does not belong to one community. He is the CM of the entire state. Hence it is his duty to maintain law and order in his state. Siddaramaiah has failed miserably to do that,” he said.
Simha demanded a thorough probe into the Madikeri case and said that stringent action should be taken against the guilty irrespective of any barrier.
