Mysuru: Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha said the Modi Government was working out the modalities of ‘Agriculture Insurance’ that will protect the farmers against the vagaries of nature.
After inaugurating the annual meet of Mysuru-Chamarajanagar District Fertilizers, Seeds and Pesticides Dealers Association (MCDFSEPDA) at a private hotel in the city Simha said that as the Union Government was planning to enhance crop loss compensation from the existing Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh. He also appealed to the farming community not to take extreme steps.

Coming down heavily on the menace of private money-lenders charging exorbitant rates, the MP asked the farmers to complain to the Police against anyone harassing them.
He stressed that Modi led NDA Government at the Centre was keen to ensure agricultural growth in the country.
