Mysuru: Mysuru’s Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) has upheld humanity by preparing food as much 3.5 ton to feed about 10,000 people in the flood-stricken Chennai.

People of Chennai being deprived of basic amenities for the past 15 days due to depression, the DFRL arranged for food such as uppittu, halwa, chapathi, veg pulav, peas, tomato rice, instant kheer among other dishes and sent it to various places in Tiralooru district of Chennai through the Department of Food and Civil Supplies.

“Another five tonnes of food is being prepared and will be supplied as soon as we receive instruction from the Department of Food and Civil Supplies”, informed Scientist Dr Ilayaraja. The food prepared does not rot for almost a year, he added.
