Mysuru DC urges people to take jab

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham on Monday November 29 has urged all those who have not got vaccinated so far to get the vaccination at the earliest.

Speaking to mediapersons, he said that Cauvery Nursing Hostel has reported 36 cases while St Joseph’s College of Nursing has
reported 29 cases. “As per the guidelines of the State Government those coming from Kerala have to produce negative RT – PCR report.”

He said, “Beginning today, we are targeting 5,000 people for RT – PCR test. The positivity rate is 0.97. In the last one month 90700 tests cases were conducted and 700 cases turned out to be positive. In all 93% of the people aged over 18 have been vaccinated and 65% of them have got their second dose. The District has 2 lakh doses in stock and MCC has one lakh doses.”

The DC said the vaccination process would be complete if people respond positively. Dr. Gautham also informed that students in schools too will be tested for Coronavirus.“Cultural, social and educational activities have been put on hold till further orders. These programmes can be held virtually too,” he added.
