Mysuru: Farmer accidentally slips into river, dies

Mysuru: A farmer, who had gone to wash a cow in a river, slipped and fell to his death at Vaddambalu Village in the Taluk on Wednesday January 4.

The deceased has been identified as Mahadevashetty (46), son of Mallashettar of Vaddambalu Village in Hunsur Taluk of the District. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Mahadevashetty, a farmer, had gone to the Lakshmanatheertha River near the Village on the morning of Wednesday to wash the cow. During this time, he slipped and fell dead. As he did not return home in the evening, the family went to the river and found him dead.

A case has been registered at the Rural Police Station in this regard and the last rites were performed in his native village after the post-mortem on Thursday January 5.
