Mysuru: The authorities had to close Brindavan Gardens On Saturday October 22 because of a leopard which was spotted there, and also a huge crocodile had been observed in a storm drain water in the middle of the City.
A few workers taking care of the nearby Brindavan Gardens noticed the leopard moving along the Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) dam. The Forest Department officials were soon alerted, who inspecged the spot. Leopard was not spotted and a cage has been set up to capture the leopard.
As a safety measure, the visitors were asked to leave the place and the KRS and dam site was closed.
In the meantime, a crocodile was spotted in a nearby open drain in Mysuru, close to the JSS Hospital. The public found the crocodile and gave information to senior forest officials and zoo authorities. They arrived with veterinarians, but the crocodile had already disappeared by then.
The locals have been given the officials’ contact information and asked to call them if they see the crocodile again.
