Mysuru: Police have tightened security as a precautionary measure ahead of the Hanuman Jayanti Shobhayatra to be held in Hunsur on Wednesday December 7.

Over 2,000 police officers and women marched through the town on the night of December 6 as part of a police route march, which was led by IGP for the South Zone Praveen Madhukar Pawar.

The march started at the City’s taluk stadium and moved through J.L.B. Road, Ganeshnagudi Street, Bus Stand Road, Gokul Road, Shabbir Nagar, Kalpataru Circle, and ended at the DySP’s office.

Vehicles are being inspected at eight check posts that have been set up. For surveillance against those who are spreading fake information on social networking sites, a mobile command vehicle has arrived.

District Collector Dr. Rajendra has declared a holiday for Hunsur City’s schools and colleges due to Hanuman Jayanti Shobhayatra.
