Mysuru: Eleven people have been sentenced to life along with a fine of Rs. 32,000 each by the Mysuru District and Sessions Court in the case related to the murder of Paduvarahalli’s Devendra alias Devu.

Justice M. L. Raghunath passing the order on Monday March 7 held the 11 people guilty while releasing 18 others in the case. Pavan Kumar alias Pavan, Sunil Kumar alias Raghu, C. Rakesh alias Rakhi, H. B. Karthik, Manju alias Fayaz, Nagendra alias Vadda Naga, K. L. Sunil alias Badar, Vijaykumar alias Viji, Manikanta alias Bora, K. M. Raghu, and N. Naveen alias RX Naveen have been held guilty.

On May 5 of 2016, Devu was standing with his friends when a gang that came in a Bolero car attacked him with lethal weapons leading to his death. The then Circle Inspector of Jayalakshmipuram Police Station Thimme Gowda registered a case and started the investigation. The then NR Sub-Division ACP Umesh G. Seth had arrested the accused. A case was registered against former Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) member C. Mahadesh and his brother C. Manju, and 27 others.
