Mysuru: JDS Supremo and Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda said that he always fought for water issues of State.

Speaking on Saturday April 16, he said that “I have been trying my level best to solve water problems in the State and the fight will continue.” Gowda said, “Water resources are aplenty in the State but the previous government run by Congress and the present Bharatiya Janata Party are not cooperating.

Former PM said that Cauvery, Kabini and Krishna are interstate rivers but the State is not getting its share. I made a fervent plea to the Centre in Rajya Sabha not to cheat Karnataka. The so-called national parties did not support me. JD (S) is a regional party and if people realise our potential, they will vote us to power. This rally is to create awareness among people.”

The JD (S) Supremo said, “When it comes to water issues, all parties in Tamil Nadu join hands but it is not so in Karnataka. I tried to meet the Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti thrice but he was elusive.”

On corruption charges against the State BJP Government, Gowda said, “There are no trustworthy people in politics. Mudslinging is always there. Congress leaders are talking as if they are clean. Are they clean? Politics in the State is at its lowest ebb and I don’t want to comment.”

On alliance with BJP, the veteran said, “People talk when we come out with a new programme. Congress leaders are in the habit of complaining against us time and again and they are free to do it.”
