Mysuru: On the fifth day of Navaratri, pooja was offered to Goddess Skandamata, the goddess of love and motherhood here on Monday October 11.
The Pooja is offered to Goddess Skandamata for peace and prosperity. She is one of the avatars of Goddess Durga.
‘Kalasha’ was brought from Kodi Someshwara Temple and offered pooja followed by a pooja to ambari elephant Abhimanyu, horses, cow and camel. After the rituals were over, titular king Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar ascended the crown and held a private durbar.
In view of the Jamboo Savari slated for October 15, a final rehearsal was held. Abhimanyu carried the wooden howdah and he seemed to be all at ease.The other jumbos, Chaitra, Cauvery accompanied Abhimanyu. Ashwathama and Lakshmi also took part in the drill along with horses.
