Mysuru: A teenaged boy was allegedly murdered by his three friends in the name of black magic at Hemmaragala Village in Nanjangud Taluk in the District on Sunday January 2.
The deceased has been identified as Mahesh (16), and was studying in class 10. He was pushed to Halekere Lake by his friends on Sunday and the incident came to light on Monday January 3.
According to sources, a boy who had learnt black magic from his grandfather is the accused along with two others. All the three planned to perform black magic on Amavasye day on Sunday and used the doll and other articles on the banks of the lake. They later asked Mahesh to come to the spot and performed pooja by making him sit beside the doll. Later the three minor boys pushed him to lake due to which he drowned.
Kavalande Police have taken three boys, all minor into their custody. The investigation is on.
