Chamarajanagara: The cash bag containing Rs. 2.91 lakh which went missing from Prasada counter at Malemahadeshwar Betta of Hanur Taluk, has seen a happy ending. The money is back in the coffers of the
Authority.
A Bangalore-based man named Narasimha brought back temple money and returned it. On Thursday July 28 the Temple witnessed heavy rush of devotees owing to Bheemana Amavasya. At this time, an employee who was on duty had given Rs. 2.91 lakh money along with Laddu Prasad to a devotee at a special darshan counter. Upon checking CCTV it was found that money bag mistakenly was handed over to a devotee instead of Prasada. A complaint was filed with the Male Mahadeshwara Betta Police regarding the missing of cash bag. Besides, the officials of the Temple Authority instructed the employee to remit Rs. 2.91 lakh cash as it is their dereliction of duty.
Since it was a mistake, the Police launched the operation without registering any case and managed to trace the identity through CCTV and contacted the devotee who returned the money on Sunday July 31.
