Chunchanakatte: 31-ft-tall Anjaneya idol enters town

Mysuru: Integrity in diversity marked the ‘Pura Pravesha’ of 31-feet-tall idol of Lord Anjaneya Swamy at Sri Rama Temple, Chunchanakatte in KR Nagar Taluk of the District on Friday May 6.

Religious leaders from Hindu, Muslim, Christian and other communities took part in receiving the idol and showered flower petals on the Lord. Jai Anjaneya slogans hit the air marking the festive mood at Chunchanakatte.

The monolithic idol is the cynosure of all eyes. It is carved by sculptor Arun Yogiraj in a span of 15 months. Former Minister and KR Nagar MLA Sa Ra Mahesh who is keen on developing Chunchanakatte where Cauvery flows as a tourist spot has taken up the initiative of installing the idol.
