Mysuru: Agriculture Minister B. C. Patil slammed Congress for disturbing peace in the society. Reacting to charges
that the State BJP Government is playing the communal card to conceal its failures on Friday April 22 he said “There is no law and order problem as complained by the Congress leaders. In fact, they are trying to play with the sentiments of the people.”
Patil said “We all know what happened in Hubballi. The man who instigated the violence has been arrested. No one is above the law. Congress, it seems, is trying to encourage all anti-national elements. Are Congress leaders protectors of the law of the land?”
Answering a question, he said, “Corruption in the appointment of Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) is shameful and those involved in it should be punished. One needs the talent to join the Police Department. When I heard of the charges, I was really shocked. I was also in the Police Department and I know how it works.”
Minister to a query from mediapersons replied, “If I am asked to take charge, I don’t mind becoming the Home Minister. Having worked in the Police Department for 25 years, I have the wherewithal for this responsibility. However, it is left to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to take a decision. However, at presemt Home Minister Araga Jnanendra is doing a good job,” he stressed.
