Mysuru: Bhogeshwara, a wild elephant with the longest tusk, was found dead in the Gundre Forest Range of the Bannerghatta Wildlife Sanctuary.

The elephant, which was sighted in the backwaters of Kabini Reservoir during the Safari, was the main attraction for tourists. This is a mild charactered elephant which is also the largest photographed elephant in the region since last three decades.

The elephant aged between 60-65 years has 5-feet-long tusks. Forest officers told that the elephant died two days ago which is a natural death and beat guards found the cadaver. It was cremated in the forest in presence of officers.
