Mysuru: Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and inaugurator of Dasara celebration S. M. Krishna received a grand welcome at the Outer-Ring Road junction at Columbia Asia Hospital on the Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway.
Krishna will inaugurate Navaratri festivities at Chamundi Hill on Thursday October 7. Artistes performed Dollu Kunita (Dollu dance) during his arrival. It was a traditional welcome for the veteran politician with a flower bouquet and Mysuru Peta. The District Administration also gave books to Krishna as welcome gift.
Various folk troupes such as Kamsale, Garudi Kunita, Dollu Kunita, and Veeragase performed, to create a festive mood.
Krishna later drove straight to Hotel Radisson Blu, on MG road, where he is accommodated as the Chief Guest, with District Administration as the host.
Cooperation and District Minister S. T. Somashekar, Urban Development Minister Byrati Basavaraj, MLC A. H. Vishwanath, MLAs G. T. Devegowda, L. Nagendra and others were present.
