Mysuru: Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Vice Chancellor Prof. S. Vidya Shankar disclosed that KSOU will tie up with New York university which would provide skill development training to students here.
After inaugurating learning centre conveners’ meeting on Wednesday September 29, he said that, “New York University has come forward to provide skill training for just Rs. 2000 under Make in India Project, while the actual cost is Rs. 40,000 here.”
He also said that a Centre of Excellence will be established jointly by both universities in KSOU premises.
The New York university would provide one month-training to lecturers. The KSOU will organise skill development training throughout the State. He said admission to various courses in KSOU is done online. He also said KSOU plans to enrol one lakh students this year.
