Mandya: KRS dam is inching towards its brim with just 2.6 feet left to reach its full capacity.
According to the reading obtained on the evening of Saurday July 9, the water level has reached 122.2 feet against the total capacity of 124.8 feet.
According to a release, it is stated that “Following the heavy rainfall in the catchment areas, there has been a huge inflow of water into the dam. Hence 10,000 cusecs to 25,000 cusecs of water is being released into Cauvery River. The outflow can be increased anytime.”
Hence, the people living in river banks and low lying areas are requested to shift to safer locations along with their livestock and ensure safety of their properties, the release added.
