MCC all set to administer booster doses to frontline workers in Mysuru

Mysuru: Following orders of Union Government, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is all set to administer booster doses to healthcare workers and frontline workers from Monday January 10. MCC has been conducting Covid tests at its zonal offices.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a precautionary dose for healthcare workers (HCW) and frontline warriors (FLW) from January 10 across the country. In this background, the District Administration has identified the target group of Healthcare Workers, and Frontline workers as well as eligible people above 60 years of age for the booster dose.

MCC primarily has conducted RT – PCR tests for pourakarmikas at Zonal offices. Around 100 pourakarmikas took part in the drive. Across Mysuru, HCW are about 44,602, and there are about 39,370 frontline workers. There are as many as 395000 people above 60 years of age. Thus, in all 4,78,972 people are eligible for booster dose. Those who have taken Covid second dose nine months prior are also eligible to take the booster dose.
