Mysuru: Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) former officer staged a lone protest against MUDA on Monday April 25 alleging rampant corruption and irregularities.
Speaking to mediapersons MUDA retired Town Planning Assistant Director Nataraja said that he prevented corruption while in MUDA by unnecessary and fake works for a commission. After his retirement in 2019, rampant corruption took place in form of fake works. He said MUDA did not construct any new layout in the last 35 to 40 years. He said though four projects are ready, there is a problem of legal hurdles, hence could not acquire lands.
He said officials doing bills for existing roads and drainages are looting Crores. He said nearly Rs. 600 Crore corruption took place and again the MUDA planned to take up works worth Rs. 1,774 Crores.
He urged the State Government to stop floating Rs. 1,774 Crore tenders and hand over the probe to CBI. He also warned of filing suit against corruption in court soon if the government does not take action.
