Mysuru: 27 couple reunited through Lok Adalat

Mysuru: A total of 27 couples have agreed to live together after Lok Adalat’s counselling. These couple applied for divorce in various courts of Mysuru District.

A total of 1,15,893 cases are pending in Mysuru City and Taluk courts, out of which 50,811 cases have been identified as negotiable cases. Of these, 33,551 cases have been taken up for conciliation so far.

Out of the 33,551 cases identified for conciliation in the cases pending in the court are 18,705 cases and 38,843 pre-litigation cases. Thus in total, 57,548 cases have been settled in the Rashtriya Lok Adalat. This time 31,964 cases were disposed off through National Lok Adalat, especially in cases related to traffic violations a Rs. 1,76,18,200 fine has been accepted and thus cases have been disposed. A total of Rs. 42,37,99,068 compensation has been distributed to victims under Motor Vehicle act.

Rashtriya Lok Adalat was organised with the objective of facilitating settlement of cases pending in various courts through mediation across the state including the District.
