Mysuru: The 17th annual convocation of the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) will be held at the University’s Event Hall on Monday April 25 at 10.30 am,” said KSOU Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Vidyashankar.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday April 23, Dr. Vidyashankar said, “A total of 8,338 graduates will be conferred degrees at the convocation. There are 3,272 male and 5,066 female candidates out of which 31 candidates will be awarded PhD degrees, 48 candidates will be awarded gold medals and 38 candidates will be awarded cash prizes.”
Honorary Secretary of National Education Committee Trust A. V. S . Murthy, Vice President of Tata Global Resources Management E. S. Chakravarthy and Managing Director of VRL Group Anand Sankeshwar will be conferred the honorary doctorate award at the event.
The event will be chaired by Karnataka Governor and Chancellor Thawar Chand Gehlot and Minister of Higher Education Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan.
