Mysuru: Book on MK Gandhi to be released

Mysuru: The book ‘Gandhi: Paradigm of Social Welfare’ will be released on February 7 during a series of programmes on Gandhiji organised by Mahatma Gandhi Study Chair of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Maharani’s Arts College for Women and Mahajana First Grade College. The work, authored by Dr. R. H. Pavithra, Assistant Professor, Economics, KSOU, is divided into four parts that are well structured and coherent.

Part I of the book provides the historical background of Gandhiji and part II looks at the historical milestones of Gandhiji’s struggle for social welfare. Part III examines Gandhian principles and socio-economic development and finally, Part IV examines Gandhiji’s contributions to sustainable growth and holistic development.

The work is intended to serve as a guide for students of all disciplines at various institutions, and universities as well as for all aspirants for examinations. The book will also serve as a guide to all those interested in Gandhian studies. Apart from the book release, a special lecture on Gandhiji, and an expo on Mahatma has been organised.

Karnataka Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi Chairman Wooday P. Krishna will inaugurate the event and KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof Sharanappa V. Halase will preside over the programme and Retired Professor Jeevan Kumar will be the main speaker.
