Mysuru: Keeping in view the next Assembly elections, the Congress party has planned to organise a bus yatra across the State. But the date for the bus trip has not been fixed yet.

Speaking to mediapersons in the City on Tuesday November 15, State Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah said that the bus is getting ready for the trip. D. K. Shivakumar and he will campaign in two separate teams. I don’t look at astrology to fix dates for bus travel. First, we will release the list of Congress candidates. He informed that the list of Congress candidates may be released in the last week of November or the first week of December, he noted.

“The bus used for the campaign is getting ready. The bus has already been piloted once in Kolar. We do not go as per astrology. We have no Rahu Kala, Gulika Kala, and Yamaganda Kala. He said that everything is a good time.

Commenting on Kodagu Mysuru MP Pratap Simha’s statement of clearing Gumbaz model bus stops in Mysore, he said, “What can an MP say if he has no common sense?” Who is Pratap Simha to break Gumbaz? What were the officials doing while designing a bus stop from their house? What does it mean to break the Gumbaz-type station? They are doing this to create unrest. This is how they are preparing to get votes during the election. Where are the rules that bus shelters should be like this? This strategy of the BJP will not work. The people of Karnataka and this country are secular. People do not agree on the issue of caste and religion. What these people were doing when the Mughals ruled us for more than 600 years, he lashed out at Simha.

He said that he was against forced conversion and said that no one should be forced to convert. Anyone can practice any religion. He said that I am in favour of the order given by the Supreme Court in this regard.

Reacting to the allegations of illegal recruitment of PSI during Siddaramaiah’s tenure as well, he said, “If there is illegal recruitment during my tenure as well, let it be investigated. What were they doing for three and a half years without investigating? Why is the BJP making the same accusation again and again now?, he questioned.
