Mysuru: Goddess Chamundeshwari Temple at Chamundi Hills will be open till 10.00 pm, a two-hour extension to enable the rush on Thursday October 14 and Friday October 15.
Speaking to media persons on Thursday October 14 Cooperation and District In-Charge Minister S. T. Somashekhar said that “Mysuru Dasara is one of the most visited tourist destinations. After catching a glimpse of illuminated Mysuru City, tourists can’t visit the temple as it closes at 8.00 pm. Hence it has been directed to keep the temple open till 10.00 pm to help the visitors have darshan of the Goddess.”
To a query over the request of various organisations to extend Dasara illumination for 10 more days till Deepavali, the minister said “some unions and organisations have requested for extension of three days and some for 10 days. A decision in this regard will be taken by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who will visit Mysuru. We will discuss the proposal with the CM, he added.
