Mysuru: Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers staged a protest here on Friday June 24 against recurrent hike in power tariff in front of CESC sub-division office at VV Mohalla here in the City.

Speaking to mediapersons, the protesters said that “the rate of electricity per unit has been raised by 50 paise for both residential and commercial use. The hike in price impacts the public. It adds to their burden. They are already struggling with the price rise of other commodities.”

The protesters urged the Government and electricity supply companies to rollback the hike. CPI (M) activists including Secretary Jagadish Surya raised slogans against the power supply companies, electricity department and the Government, urging immediate rollback
