Mysuru: District In-charge Minister S. T. Somashekar said that the 2022 Dasara festival has been celebrated in a grand manner this year at a cost of Rs. 28.74 Crore.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Palace Board here on Tuesday November 1, he has given information about the cost of the world famous Mysuru Dasara celebrations and the Jumboo Savari procession. Rs. 10 Crore from Mysuru Urban Development Authority, Rs 15 Crore from Kannada and Culture Department, Rs. 5 Crore from Palace Management, and Rs. 32,50,000 from sponsorship were collected. In all Rs. 76.38 Lakh from ticket and gold card sales has been received. The total collected amount is Rs. 31,08,88,819.
Out of this, Rs. 26,54,49,058 has been allotted to Dasara sub-committees. A sum of Rs.2.20 Crore has been sanctioned for Dasara festival in Mandya Chamarajanagara and Hassan Districts. In addition, Rs. 47.20 Lakh honorarium has been given to the royal family and Rs 1.26 crore is leftover. The expenditure calculation, including 21 Dasara sub-committees, will be reviewed in four days under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, he said.
