Mysuru: The District Administration has intensified Covid tests as experts have predicted that the fourth wave of the Coronavirus might hit in June.
District Health Officer Dr. K. H. Prasad told reporters that booster vaccines for people over 60 and health workers are being given at the Government Hospitals. Masks should be worn and safe distance must be maintained with usage of sanitisers without any negligence.”
“Officials from the District Health and Family Welfare Department are preparing to deal with the situation due to the fourth wave threat and are evolving strategies to contain the virus based on the 1st to 3rd wave of Covid experience,” he added.
In the last week alone, 1800 people have been tested, of which only one has tested positive. As many as 200 to 250 tests are conducted in the District on those who are coming from other States including Mumbai and New Delhi.
