Mysuru Dist Administration all ready to establish Covid war-room

Mysuru: The District Administration is all geared up to establish war-room to tackle rising Covid cases. The District witnessed surge of tourists following Christmas and New Year holidays.

Undoubtedly the flow of tourists caused rise of Covid cases. On Tuesday January 4, the Health Department detected 48 Covid positive cases which is highest in a month. Now the Health Department is preparing to start war-room as a precautionary measure. In addition, Covid Care Centres are being prepared to reopen. The verification of Oxygen units too has been carried out to ensure that  the units are functioning properly.

The District Administration tightened security at all the inter-state check posts of the District. The people coming from Tamil Nadu and Kerala should produce vaccination certificate that affirms one has taken two doses. Covid RT – PCR negative report is a must too. The police personnel are guarding check posts 24×7.

“A total of 16 oxygen units are sanctioned for the District and 12 are operational. In addition, children aged 15 to 18 were given the Covid vaccinationnwhile 24,719 children were given the vaccine on the same day. We aim to vaccinate 10000 children everyday, ”said District Health Officer Dr. Prasad.
