Mysuru: The Forest Department has prepared a list of 20 elephants for this year’s Dasara.

The Dasara High-Level Meeting, which is scheduled for July 19 in Bengaluru, will decide the final list of 14 to 15 elephants.

According to sources, this year’s Dasara elephant selection was carried out by visiting various elephant camps and inspecting 30 elephants.

The Forest Department officials, led by Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) Dr. V. Karikalan, visited Mathigodu Elephant Camp, Anekadu and Dubare Elephant Camps, as well as Rampura Elephant Camp in Bandipur inspecting the elephants at the camps for two days. They have prepared a list of 20 elephants, including seven female elephants.
