Mysuru: Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah has said that a leader is one who can stand for elections from wherever he wants. He hit back at the BJP leaders for claiming that he was looking for a constituency for the elections.
Speaking to mediapersons, he said, “In a democracy, anyone can contest from anywhere. He said, “I will contest where people want me to, whether it is from Kolar or Varuna.”
Reacting to H. D. Kumaraswamy’s claim that he had given political rebirth to Siddaramaiah,
he said, “Where was Kumaraswamy when I won eight elections? When did Kumaraswamy enter politics? Kumaraswamy entered politics in 1996. Had I not won the election by then? The talk that Siddaramaiah won because I did not contest is childish. This is an insult to the voters who voted,” he said.
