Mysuru: A case has been registered at the Saraswathipuram Police Station that D. K. Dinesh Kumar (51), a resident of Vijayanagara, Project Director of Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL), has died under suspicious circumstances.

It is said that Dinesh of Doddapalya Village in Srirangapatna Taluk was serving as KREDL Officer in Nagarabavi, Bengaluru. His wife has stated that Dinesh slept after dinner on the night of Sunday November 27 and did not wake up. She fell unconscious on Monday November 28. The sick wife and son are undergoing treatment at a private hospital, said the police.

Dinesh’s dead body was swollen and many parts of the body were injured. Police said that the doctor said that it has been more than 14 hours since he died. The statement given by the wife of the deceased and the statement given by the doctor does not match. A private hospital doctor has been instructed to counsel the wife and son.  Police sources said that an investigation will be conducted based on the autopsy report.

The deceased’s brother-in-law H. M. Narayana has filed a complaint at the Police Station, alleging that Dinesh’s death is a murder.

Dinesh, who came from Bengaluru on Saturday November 26, checked his own building under construction in Hebbal, went home, and was not available to anyone from there. His phone has also been switched off since Saturday night itself.

Complainant Narayana said that he came to know about his death on Monday November 28 at 2.00 pm. There were injuries on the dead body.

The dead body was taken to the hospital without being noticed by the Police. A private ambulance was used instead of a hospital ambulance. In case of natural death, the next of kin should have been informed. They have not done that either.

Also, the housekeeper is not allowed to clean the bedroom. He alleged that four or five people have committed the crime together.

Saraswathipuram Police have registered a case under CrPC 174 (c) and have started an investigation. The postmortem of the deceased was conducted at the Mysore Medical College and Research Institute mortuary on Tuesday November 29.
