Mysuru: The 7th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a man to 7-years-jail term along with a fine of Rs. 10,000 for the 2017 rape of a woman in HD Kote Taluk of the District.
Shivarama alias Pasa Swamy (22), a resident of Gandattur Village in the taluk is the convict who has committed the crime on March 14, 2017 under Beechanahalli Police Station jurisdiction. He allegedly took the woman to his friend’s house and raped her, as per the complaint
registered by the victim.
The trial judge, Yashwant Kumar, sentenced Shivarama to seven years
imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 10,000 for his crime. K. Nagaraju had argued on behalf of the government as a prosecutor.
