Mysuru: To mark World Tiger Day, Minister of Heavy and Medium Industries Murugesh Nirani has adopted a tiger in the name of his grandson Samarth M. Vijaya Nirani. Manya, the tigress from the Jayachamarajendra Zoo was adopted on Saturday July 30 by paying Rs. 2 Lakh to zoo authorities for a period of 1 year.
Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Zoo Authority Chairman Shivakumar said that Nirani’s family adopted a tiger on World Tiger Day. So I
congratulate him, he said.
He said that the Zoo Authority would like to congratulate all those who have joined hands in the conservation of animals with management of the zoo by adopting the animals of the zoo. He appealed more wildlife lovers to come forward to adopt animals .
