Mysuru: Staying in tune with the Centre’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, District In-Charge Minister S. T. Somashekar inaugurated a programme as a step towards a “Clean India.”
The Minister said, “It is our responsibility to keep our City (Mysuru) clean. All should join hands to keep tourist places peck and clean. This should be a voluntary act.”
“Let’s do it Mysuru and other organisations are taking initiatives to keep the City clean,” he added. Somashekar also took part in the cleanliness drive.
Chamaraja Constituency MLA L Nagendra, Mysuru Mayor Shivakumar, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham, Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy and Zoo Authority of Karnataka Chairman M. Shivakumar was present.
Somashekar also clarified that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not come for Jamboo Savari day to offer flowers to the goddess Chamundeshwari idol. He said four union ministers would take part on Jamboo Savari day.
