Mysuru: Former Minister and MLA S. A. Ramadas has vouched to make the 485-km-road of Krishnaraja Assembly constituency as ‘Safety Road Constituency’. To achieve this purpose, Ramadas has launched works on asphaltation and the development of roads in the parts of the Constituency in Kuvempunagara, Sriramapura and Aravind Nagara at the estimated cost of Rs. 1.3 Crore.
The works are taken up by Public Works Department (PWD) under MLA Local Area Development funds, along with the development of stormwater drains. The works include asphaltation of roads in K block, Kuvempunagara in Ward 57, road development works in Hudco 807 in Vivekananda Nagara in Ward 59, asphaltation of roads in Sriramapura third stage, Aravind Nagar, Ward 64 and asphaltation of roads in Shivapura, and Sriramapura, Ward 65. All these works will be completed by January.
“Following the travails related to UGD being faced by the people, we have launched 72 works. We have also fixed the loopholes wherever the people were facing trouble during rainfall. That apart total drinking water facilities will be provided at K. R Constituency,” said Ramadas.
