Mysuru: The District Administration demolished NTMS Government School using four JCBs on the night of Monday February 7. Over 20 Kannada and farmers leaders have been arrested by the police who tried to stop the demolition.
This school land was handed over to the Ramakrishna mutt for the construction of the Viveka Memorial in the year 2013. Recently, the government shifted the students to the nearby Maharani College campus and handed over the land to the mutt.
However, the Kannada and farmers activists were against the government’s move. They had sought the intervention of Chamarajanagara MP V. Srinivas Prasad.
Now, the school which was started by Mysuru Wadiyars for the education of girl students entered into history.
