Mysuru: Former Minister and MLA K. S. Eshwarappa on Friday September 16 slammed Congress’ unruly behaviour when the Anti-Conversion Bill was being tabled in the Legislative Council on Thursday September 15.
Speaking to mediapersons here , Eshwarappa said, “This is an insult to the Constitution. Local Congress leaders did this to please Congress President Sonia Gandhi. On Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar’s objection to the Enforcement Directorate’s notice, the BJP leader said, his objection carries no
weight. Shivakumar was jailed in the past before he came out on bail. Unless he is given a clean chit, he can’t be issuing loose statements.”
On Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra, Eshwarappa said, “It was the grand old party that divided the country and now, they are talking of uniting it. Many freedom fighters sacrificed their life for the sake of Congress. Rahul Gandhi should repent for the party’s mistakes in the past and try to unite the country. Saying those who are financially sound should not get any reservation, Eshwarappa said.
“Right people are not getting any reservation. For that matter, Dalit Leader Mallikarjuna Kharge’s son Priyank Kharge is taking all the benefits which he should forego.”
On his getting clean chit in a contractor’s suicide case, the BJP Leader said, “As soon as the case was filed against me, I resigned as a minister. I was hoping to be reinstated after I got a clean chit. I am obviously disappointed.”
