Mysuru: Buoyed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to lead International Day of Yoga – 2022 in the City on June 21, various organisations have resolved to make it a success.
Yoga enthusiasts’ practiced at University of Mysore pavilion grounds on Sunday. With the venue not yet decided to facilitate the mass performance of Yoga on the D-day, suggestions are pouring in, with the talks on over the road that leads to Chamundi Hills from Mysuru Palace both being the iconic structures of the City.
As a prelude, Mysuru Yoga Forum on Sunday conducted Yoga practice at University of Mysore Pavilion grounds. More than 100 yoga enthusiasts participated and took a pledge to organise International Day of Yoga on June 21 without giving room for any complaints.
GSS Yoga Founder G. S. Srihari said “we all unite for one cause with one voice and our motto is to create Brand Mysuru and Brand Yoga only. JSS institutions are ready with more than 50,000 yoga enthusiasts. Similarly other Mysuru-based institutions are also ready to mobilise more than 50,000 participants. It is all done with due to three years of our efforts. We will organise Internation Day of Yoga as a model for the next sessions, ” Srihari said.
MLA S. A. Ramadas opined that “we should organise this event with care. We must show our perfection in organising an Yoga event. We will prepare the volunteers list from tomorrow. We want to reach each wards in Mysuru. We will give one job to one person for one month to dedicate for the success of Yoga day,” Ramadas added.
