Mysuru: Mysuru Royal family senior member, Pramoda Devi Wodeyar on Wednesday April 6 felt that there was no need for construction of ropeway to Chamundi Hills.
Speaking to mediapersons here, she said, “Travelling time to Chamundi Hills is only 20 minutes and if that is the case, what is the need for a ropeway? We need to protect the environment and there is no need to build a township on the hills. Any construction work should be opposed.”
She further said, that Iconic Lansdowne Building, and Devaraja Market should not be abolished as it is detrimental to the heritage value of
the City. Upgradation of the two buildings is welcome and we are ready for that. Jaganmohana Palace and Rajendra Vilasa Palace were upgraded without problems. Rajendra Vilasa Palace was closed to the public for sometime and we are going to upgrade it after consulting experts. The civil works are going on and we want to throw it open to the public in the days to come, she added.
