Mysuru: The Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes staged a protest at the Ramakrishna Circle here in the City on Tuesday January 18 against the Centre’s decision to reject the Kerala government-proposed tableau on the social reformer Narayana Guru and West Bengal-proposed tableau on Netaji and his Indian National Army for the 2022 Republic Day parade without providing any valid reasons.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commission President K. S. Shivaramu said “Subash Chandra Bose was a freedom fighter and our national hero who fought and died for our country. The legacy of the national hero is disrespected and exploited by the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for political purposes by rejecting the tableau proposal.” He added, “Modi, who is called as the protector of Hindu community, rejecting the social reformer Narayana Guru’s tableau is a shameful act. He must immediately create an opportunity for displaying both the tableau in the Republic Day parade. If he fails to do this, we will urge the people to cast votes against BJP and PM Modi in the upcoming five state assembly elections.”
