Mysuru: The whole country is soaked in the festive mood. Ramzan was celebrated with pomp and gaiety here on Tuesday May 2. Special prayer was held at all the mosques in the City.

Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, mass prayer was banned for the past two years and people were advised to pray at home. However, this year, people were able to attend to mosques to offer prayers as the pandemic situation improved.

Dressed in new clothes, Muslims made their way to Idgah Maidan in Tilak Nagar to offer prayers. The young and the old alike greeted each other with pleasantries.

With the fasting coming to an end on Monday, the stage was set for Eid on Tuesday. Rajiv Nagar and Ghousia Nagar were buzzing with activities since morning. All the mosques and dargahs were brightly lit to welcome the festival. Biryani and varieties of sweets are prepared to mark the occasion.
