Mysuru: “Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is behaving like Taliban’s spokesman,” said Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson M. G. Mahesh here on Wednesday September 29.
Addressing the media persons, he said, “Siddaramaiah is criticising BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) unnecessarily. He has been anti-Hindu all along. Even as a politician, he has been following this. He ditched Janata Dal (Secular) to join Congress for political gains. He is trying to please the party High Command by resorting to cheap politics.”
Mahesh welcomed the State Government’s decision to select former Chief Minister S. M. Krishna to inaugurate this year’s Mysuru Dasara.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP leader C. H. Vijayashankar said, “Terrorism is dangerous to the world which is a huge challenge to most of the countries. Comparing RSS with the Taliban is unacceptable. RSS believes in building the nation and they are ready for any kind of sacrifice. Siddaramaiah has no clue about RSS and its principles. Otherwise, he would not have resorted to this type of politics.”
“If only Siddaramaiah had known about RSS, he would have issued responsible statements. RSS is committed to social service. It is not a caste-based organisation and it only propagates nationalism. Siddaramaiah trying to demean RSS does not augur well and a responsible person can’t stoop down to this level. His words will not affect the stature of RSS, but it will only reflect on his culture,” he added.
