Mysuru: Senior JD (S) leader and Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy on Thursday April 21 alleged that it was Congress leader Siddaramaiah who was responsible for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in Karnataka after the coalition government run by Congress-JD (S) combine was ousted.
Speaking to mediapersons here he said, “Siddaramaiah keeps complaining that I did not look after the MLAs well. I was not interested in caste-based politics. Siddaramaiah looted crores of rupees but talks of sincerity. Why is he talking about corruption now? Arkavathi scam is still fresh in the minds of people. At the helm, I was not allowed to give good governance to Siddaramaiah and his men. This is one of the reasons I am asking the people of Karnataka to vote us to power with a clear majority so that we can weed out corruption.”
Kumaraswamy alleged that “Siddaramaiah had even made a bid to get me arrested 13 years ago. He is Mahanayak. I am wondering is it the same Siddaramaiah who encouraged secular forces?” he questioned.
Calling Siddaramaiah a liar, Kumaraswamy said “I am not an advocate of Eshwarappa, but the ongoing investigation should be transparent.
Later if Eshwarappa is found guilty arrest him, otherwise why such demand? Kumaraswamy asked.
He said, “I want to maintain equal distance from the Congress and BJP. For me, elections are not important but the welfare of people.” Reacting to the Hubballi violence, the JD (S) leader said, “Act sternly against violators of the law. Act firmly against corrupt people.”
“All those who say I have a soft corner for BJP are liars. I have never praised the State Government for its governance. I always believe in going to people with proof. Siddaramaiah should not do politics of hatred. I believe in transparency,” he added.
